    Handling & Transport Information

Superwool® Plus Board should be transported flat and fully supported wherever possible. Care should be taken during handling and installation to avoid unnecessary edge or corner damage. Minor edge or corner chipping can occur during handling and transport and does not normally affect the thermal insulation performance of the board.

    High Temperature Boards

    Superwool® Plus Board
Lightweight High-Temperature Insulation with Improved Handling Characteristics

Superwool® Plus Board is a rigid, self-supporting insulation board manufactured from advanced low biopersistent fibre technology. Designed for industrial high-temperature applications, it provides excellent thermal insulation performance, low heat storage and good mechanical strength.

With low thermal conductivity, thermal shock resistance and excellent machinability, Superwool® Plus Board is suitable for furnaces, kilns, ovens, flues, ducting, heat shields, expansion joints and molten metal processing applications.

    Product Highlights:

    • Classification Temperature: 1200°C
    • Continuous Use Temperature: 1000°C
    • Density: 330 kg/m³
    • Colour: White

    Common Applications:

    • Furnace, kiln and oven linings
    • Backup insulation behind firebrick and refractory linings
    • Flue and chimney insulation
    • Hot gas duct linings
    • Molten aluminium processing equipment
    • Expansion joints, seals and gaskets
    • Heat shields and thermal barriers
    • Industrial heat processing equipment

    Performance Overview:

    • Thermal Conductivity: 0.05 W/m·K at 200°C
    • Compressive Strength: 0.3 MPa
    • Modulus of Rupture: 0.8 MPa
    • Permanent Linear Shrinkage: 2.5% at 1100°C

Superwool® Plus Board is often selected where users require lightweight high-temperature insulation with low thermal conductivity, good machinability and improved handling characteristics compared with traditional refractory insulation materials.

For alternative high-temperature insulation boards, see Millboard or Ceramic Fibre Board.
