    ATS Plain Woven Glass Tape is a high-temperature electrical insulation tape manufactured from tightly woven E-glass fibres. It provides excellent dielectric strength, mechanical durability and thermal stability for demanding electrical insulation applications where a strong, non-adhesive insulating tape is required.

    Rated for continuous service up to 155°C (Class F), Plain Woven Glass Tape is widely used for motor rewinding, transformer manufacture, coil insulation, slot insulation and the repair or manufacture of electrical equipment operating at elevated temperatures.

    Supplied on 50 metre rolls in 12mm, 20mm, 25mm and 50mm widths.

    Which non-adhesive electrical insulation tape should I choose? ▾
    Choose Plain Woven Glass Tape for the highest temperature rating in the range, Plain Woven Terylene Polyester Tape for a strong and economical polyester option, Grey Egyptian Cotton Tape for flexible traditional motor rewinding and coil binding, and Plain Cotton Webbing Tape for heavier-duty binding and reinforcement.
    What is the difference between glass, polyester and cotton insulation tapes? ▾
    Woven glass tape offers the highest temperature capability and excellent mechanical strength. Polyester tape provides good strength, abrasion resistance and flexibility at a lower temperature class. Cotton tapes are soft, conformable and well suited to traditional winding, binding and varnish impregnation applications.
    Are these tapes adhesive-backed? ▾
    No. All four products are non-adhesive woven insulation tapes. They are applied by wrapping, binding or securing around coils, windings and electrical components, and may then be used with a compatible varnish or resin system where required.
    Can these tapes be used for motor rewinding? ▾
    Yes. These tapes are commonly used in electric motor rewinding, coil binding, winding reinforcement, transformer manufacture and generator repair. The best product depends on the operating temperature, required strength and preferred material.
    Can the tapes be used with electrical varnishes and resins? ▾
    These woven tapes are commonly used in varnish and resin impregnation processes. Cotton tapes are particularly absorbent, while glass and polyester tapes provide strong mechanical reinforcement. Compatibility should always be checked against the specific varnish or resin system being used.

    What roll lengths and widths are available? ▾
    Plain Woven Glass Tape, Terylene Polyester Tape and Grey Egyptian Cotton Tape are supplied on 50 metre rolls. Plain Cotton Webbing Tape is supplied on 55 metre rolls. Available widths vary by product, so please refer to the product specifications for the exact sizes.
    Are custom widths available? ▾
    These products are supplied in the standard widths shown on each product page. Custom slit widths are not currently offered for this range.
