    HIGH-TEMPERATURE ROPE & BRAID

Ceramic Fibre Braided Round Rope – 1260°C Thermal Insulation
Durable High-Temp Rope for Seals, Gaskets & Packing

Ceramic Fibre Braided Round Rope is a dense and resilient insulation material designed for extreme high-temperature sealing, gasketing, and packing applications. Braided from ceramic fibre yarn around a reinforced ceramic core, it offers long-term durability and resistance in harsh thermal environments.

    Key Features

    • Maximum temperature rating: continuous use up to 1260°C
    • Melting point: 1760°C
    • Insert temperature limits: glass 650°C, steel 1100°C
    • Thermal conductivity: <0.18 W/mK at 1000°C
    • Shrinkage (24 hrs): 3% at 1150°C
    • Density: 480–650 kg/m³

    Composition & Properties

    • Chemical composition: Al₂O₃ 46%, SiO₂ 53%
    • Electrical properties: ceramic fibres are non-conductive; steel reinforcement is conductive
    • Colour: white
    • Organic fibre content: 18% (burns out at high heat with minor out-gassing)

    Ideal Applications

    • Replacement for asbestos-based packing
    • Radiant tube packing in heat-treatment furnaces
    • Expansion joint packing in boilers and furnaces
    • Seals for stoves, ovens, and industrial kilns
    • High-temperature door seal insulation

Ceramic Fibre Braided Round Rope is a versatile, non-asbestos sealing solution that withstands extreme heat while maintaining structural integrity, making it ideal for industrial insulation and maintenance teams.

Water, Steam & Chemical Compatibility Notes

Water and steam resistance: Ceramic fibre rope is highly resistant to water and steam. If it gets wet, it will not rot or degrade. Its thermal and physical insulation properties are restored once completely dried.

Steam damage potential: If saturated rope is exposed to a sudden extreme heat spike, trapped moisture may rapidly convert to steam, which can physically damage or weaken the fibres.

Chemical weaknesses: Avoid exposure to hydrofluoric acid, concentrated phosphoric acid and strong alkalis, as these can degrade the fibre structure.
